Nikhi Aum

Nikhi Aum is a Bombay based artist whose current work is rooted in Zen philosophy and contemplative aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the writings of Shin’ichi Hisamatsu, particularly Zen and the Fine Arts, her practice explores the subtle interplay between form and formlessness, stillness and movement, material and void.

Working with layered textures and organic compositions, Aum’s current body of work invites introspection and presence. Each piece is both an offering and an inquiry—echoing the Zen ideal that art need not explain, only reveal. The two artworks presented here are part of her ongoing series “Echos of Being”

She continues to develop her visual language as a meditative practice, honoring impermanence, simplicity, and the space between things.
